Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial "Esteban Terradas" (INTA) has obtained the first accreditation under the ISO/IEC 17025 standard in Spain for continuous wave Doppler radar systems calibrations in the linear velocity and frequency magnitudes.

The activity aims to provide metrological traceability to linear speed measurements in applications in the Defense and Civil field (for example, in product approval testing laboratories for specific use in the Defense field) by using Doppler radar that does not affect operability, as it does not have to resort to external laboratories to achieve such traceability.

The calibration laboratory is located at the Torregorda Test Centre (CET) in Cádiz, under the Sub-Directorate General of Terrestrial Systems (Subdirección General de Sistemas Terrestres), which was already ENAC-accredited to carry out certification tests on medium and heavy calibre ammunition and weapons systems and components, and is designated by the Directorate General of Armament and Material (Dirección General de Armamento y Material, DGAM) as a technical activity centre for the purposes of product approval within the scope of the Spanish Ministry of Defense, supporting the Armed Forces and industry in the sector.
